This is the EWI Tourcase tm Model RT-006DC road trunk, which is a medium size general purpose road trunk with 11U rack rails on one end. The trunk is customizable for individual applications such as snake splitter, amplifier/cable trunk, rack drawer/general storage etc. This trunk has the same outer dimensions as our C006 trunks and therefore can be loaded or stacked together.
The RT-006DC has a removable lid covering the rack rail end of the trunk and the main hinged lid can be closed and secured with the rail cover removed. The trunk is equipped with 6 large recessed butterfly latches to secure the lids to the case. The main upper lid is attached in the back with a 3/4" piano hinge and is equipped with 1 recessed lid stop. One 2 space panel blank is mounted and included with the trunk.
The side panels are constructed with 3/8 inch hardwood plywood and covered with a black ABS laminate surface. The extrusion is all aluminum and assembled with aluminum rivets. The rivets on the 4 recessed handles are backed with washers to ensure strength and durability and the inside of the trunk is fully lined with 1/4" closed cell foam rubber.
Four 4" swivel casters are included with this case, two of which are locking style and the other two are regular swivel casters. The casters mount to a 3/4" plywood caster board.
The RT-006DC is equipped with dish cups in the lid to facilitate stacking. The dish cups reduce the interior height by approximately 1/2".
The EWI Tourcase trunks are manufactured to exacting tolerances with excellent fit and finish. This is a well made trunk that is sized nicely to fit 4 cases side by side in a 96" (8 ft.) wide interior measurement truck box.
