The EWI PSPX-8x4 series snake is an 8 channel XLR send snake with 4 XLR returns. The returns have parallel MXLR and 1/4" TRS panel jacks on the stagebox. Some might class this as a sub-snake or a drop-snake because of the 8 x 4 channel construction since these are commonly used as a cross stage run snake tied into the main snake to avoid a mess of individual mic cables strung out across the stage.
The stagebox is very heavy duty and well labeled. The fantail is also heavy duty, color coded to groups and very well labeled. The main trunk is constructed with EWI SMC cable which is 12 individual shielded pairs, 22 ga., high copper purity conductors with double aluminum foil shield and trace wire, which is heavy duty, and very flexible.
Strain relief at the stage box and fantail is provided with mesh grip style hanger at the fantail, and rubber compression aluminum cable clamp at the stagebox. The dimensions of the stage box are: 7 1/16" wide x 14 5/8" long x 2 1/2" high.
The panel jacks are the button-less "spring loaded" style with composite (non-metallic) bodies and the fantail is constructed with EWI ES3FB-GDP (FXLR) and EWI ES3MB-GDP (MXLR) black shell with gold contact point connectors.
The fantail is all XLR with the Caps of the Returns color coded Red for easy identification. We have various lengths of MXLR to ¼" TRS adaptor cables available if your drive rack requires ¼" TRS connections for the sends, and if you need a little more length on the send channels to reach the drive rack.
This is a quality built snake suitable for professional applications. It even comes with a nifty blue bag to protect the fantail when not in use (pictured).
Genuine Liechtenstein Neutrik® XLR connectors on the stage box and fantail are now available on select lengths. The Neutrik equipped snakes feature Neutrik® "XX" series cord ends and Neutrik® NC3PP series panel jacks on the stage box. Click here for pictures.
