These are the EWI Tourcase tm Model PA Series rack cases suitable for standard 19" rack mount equipment. Currently 4 models are available: PA12U (12 space), PA14U (14 space), PA16U (16 space), and PA18U (18 space). The rack rails, both front and back, are drilled and tapped for #10 x 32 racking screws and have an 18.25" racking depth from the front rails to the back rails.
The PA series racks are a pull-over cover style. The cover slides over the top of the inner rack. This is a handy style of rack since the removable cover can be effectively utilized at the jobsite as a sturdy table stand for a mixing console or other similar use. Additionally, since the pull-over style case is a "double case" with foam padding completely protecting the inner rack, this style of case offers excellent protection of the rack items. The inner rack can be removed if desired which then becomes a free standing equipment rack with its' own set of feet.
The side panels are constructed with 3/8 inch hardwood plywood and covered with a black ABS laminate surface. The extrusion is all aluminum and assembled with aluminum rivets. The rivets on the 8 recessed handles are backed with washers to ensure strength and durability and the inside of the case is fully lined with 3/8" closed cell foam rubber.
The PA series cases are equipped with 4 recessed butterfly latches to secure the cover to the tray and four 4" swivel casters are included, two of which are locking style. The casters mount to a 3/4" plywood caster board.
EWI Tourcases are manufactured to exacting tolerances with excellent fit and finish.
