***Please Note*** The C12UDJ-P-M and the C16UDJ-P-M have been redesigned to accommodate a larger variety of mixers by allowing the mixer portion to tilt into the case roughly 2 1/2" past horizontal at the rear for transporting. This allows mixers with taller display screens to be used in the case with the lids in place. On the earlier C12UDJ-P and the C16UDJ-P version of this case the mixer stopped at horizontal for transport.
These are the EWI Tourcase tm Model CUDJ-P-M rack cases which have ratcheting mixer rails mounted at the top of the case and an 18.25" rack depth measured from the front rack rails to the rear rack rails. Two models are available: C12UDJ-P-M (12 space) and C16UDJ-P-M (16 space).
The slant mixer mounting portion of the CUDJ-P-M series cases is designed to accommodate mixers with a rack mount requirement of up to 10U (17.5"). A longer front to back mixer of up to 21" (12U) is possible to mount in this case by extending a portion of the mixer into the front and back lids; however, the mixer rack rails are 17.5" long. The slant mixer rails are supported at the back with a ratcheting tilt mechanism which allows the mixer to be positioned at 10 different angles ranging from transport position to about 10 degrees above horizontal.
The CUDJ-P-M series cases build on the success of our CU series with the added feature of attaching the removable doors to the sides of the case to form a tabletop on both sides of the case. The doors house the steel table legs which fold flat when transporting. The tabletop doors attach to the sides of the case with two heavy duty latches that mate with two heavy duty hooks on the side of the case. With both tables attached on the C12UDJ-P-M, the overall width of the case is 88 3/4" with a tabletop height of 31 1/4". The C16UDJ-P-M has an overall width of 103" with a tabletop height of 38 3/8".
The equipment rack rails of the CUDJ-P-M cases are actually two spaces longer than the model number implies. Depending on your mixer height when laid flat or horizontal in the slant top portion of the rack you may or may not be able to use this extra rack space for racking other equipment. If your mixer extends down into this space when laid flat you will still have the full use of the rated rack space. Please note: The supplied panel blanks or a piece of rack equipment must be installed in the front and back rails at all times to provide rigidity to the case.
The CUDJ-P-22M series side panels are constructed with 3/8 inch hardwood plywood and covered with a black ABS laminate finish. The extrusion is all aluminum and the case is assembled with aluminum rivets. The rivets on the 4 recessed padded flip handles are backed with washers to ensure strength and durability. The cases roll on 4 heavy duty 4" swivel casters, two of which are braking style. The casters are shipped unmounted with all mounting hardware included.
The CUDJ-P-22M series cases are equipped with 3 lids: front, back, and top. The lids are secured to the case using 4 recessed butterfly latches per lid and the top lid is secured between the front and back lids. Each lid has four heavy duty ball corners and the inside of the CUDJ-P-22M series lids are fully padded with medium density foam rubber. When the mixer rails are in transport position, there is approximately 5" of clearance between the back of the mixer rails and the inside of the top lid.
These are well made heavy duty cases manufactured to exacting tolerances and suitable for a variety of deep racking applications.
