These are the
EWI Tourcase
tm Model CUDJ-R-22 series 3 lid combo amplifier mixer combo rack road
cases
with tabletop lids. These cases are suitable for standard 19" rack
mount equipment with a deep front to back size. This case will
accommodate deeper mixers like the Yamaha 01V96.
The slant top mixer
mounting portion of the CUDJ-R-22 series cases is designed to accommodate
mixers with a maximum rack mount requirement of 12U (21") front to
back and a maximum depth of 8 inches top to bottom. A longer front to back
mixer of up to 24" is possible to mount in this case by
extending a portion of the mixer into the covers; however, the mixer
rack rails are 21" long. The slant mixer rails are supported
at the back with ratcheting tilting supports which allow the mixer to
be positioned at 10 different angles ranging from "flat" or
horizontal to a maximum slanted position of approximately 18 degrees.
The CUDJ-R-22 series cases
have 22" racking depth from the front rails to the back rails.
The rack rails, both front and back, are drilled and tapped for #10
x 32 racking screws. A pouch of rack screws is supplied with each case.
The CUDJ-R-22 series
cases build on the success of the CU-R-22 series with the added
feature of attaching the removable doors to the sides of the case to
form a tabletop on both sides of the case. The doors house the
steel table legs which fold flat when transporting. The
tabletop doors attach to the sides of the case with two heavy duty
latches that mate with two heavy duty hooks on the side of the case.
With both tables attached on the C12UDJ-R-22, the overall width of
the case is 85 3/4" with a tabletop height of 31 1/4". The
C16UDJ-R-22, has an overall
width of 99 1/2" with a tabletop height of 38 3/4".
As shown in the
picture above there is a shelf dividing the upper mixer portion of
the rack and the lower rack gear portion of the rack. This
shelf is adjustable. In the fully "up" position, this shelf is
about 5 1/2" below the mixer mount rack rails. In the fully
"down" position, this shelf is about 8" below the mixer mount rack
rails. This adjustable feature is to accommodate the varying
depth of different mixers. In the fully "up" position the
shelf is above the lower rack gear portion, but lowering the shelf
to accommodate a deeper bodied mixer will impact the total rack
height of the lower rack gear portion of the rack.
The CUDJ-R-22 series is
equipped with a top lid, a front door and a back door. The
doors are secured with 8 ea. medium sized recessed butterfly latches, 4
on each door. These cases are
also equipped with 2 each recessed padded flip-handles on each side
of the case (4
total). The rivets on the handles are backed with backing
washers to ensure strength and durability. Each lid has four heavy duty ball corners. The inside of the
CU-R-22
series lids are fully padded with medium density foam rubber.
The extrusion is all aluminum and double walled. The side
panels are constructed with 3/8 inch hardwood plywood with an black
ABS laminate surface. The case is assembled with good quality
rivets. There are 4 each. heavy duty 4" casters on the bottom, two
of which are locking style.
The cases are shipped
boxed with the casters un-mounted and included inside the case.
Mounting is simple and only requires a 12MM wrench or Crescent
wrench. All the hardware is included to mount the casters and
the mounting holes are pre-drilled with backing tee-nuts already
in place.
These cases are
manufactured to exacting tolerances with excellent fit and finish.
Either door will perfectly fit on either side of the case,
right-side up or upside down. In fact, the lid for any one
model of case will fit correctly on
any other case of the same model.
These are well made,
very heavy duty cases.
